Ey up — this one had our two convinced they'd cracked the case of the century.
When Lily turned seven, I knew a standard "follow the clues" hunt wouldn't cut it. So I created this one: a proper detective mystery where the kids aren't just finding things—they're solving a crime. Someone's stolen the magnificent emerald crown from King Eldor's museum in the town of Wimbledon, and your little detectives are the only ones who can catch the culprit.
You print it at home, set up eight stations around your house or garden, and the children work their way through riddles, clues and detective challenges until they piece together enough evidence to recover the crown. No apps, no screens—just proper investigative legwork.
📦 What you get in the PDF
- A set of eight station cards brimming with age-adapted riddles and mystery clues—tricky enough for the nine-year-olds, solvable for the younger ones with a bit of grown-up nudging
- Detective-style invitation cards to kick things off with proper intrigue
- A treasure map that doubles as an evidence tracker (the kids mark each solved clue as they progress)
- Station cards designed like case files, guiding the children through the mystery
- A detective certificate for each child—proof of their investigative prowess
- Two difficulty variations included, so you can pick the puzzle level that suits your crew
- Clear setup instructions written for the parent who's got about ten minutes before guests arrive
A whodunit treasure hunt set in the bustling town of Wimbledon—kids play detectives hunting clues to recover a stolen emerald crown. 8 stations packed with riddles, teamwork & mystery. Mum-tested, print at home. Ages 6–12. Instant PDF.

What families say about this hunt
489 reviews · 4.7★ average across our hunts — here's what families said about this one:
Great idea for little sleuths.
My son (8) and his friends were thrilled! I particularly liked that the story runs through from beginning to end – that's not the case with many other treasure hunts. The preparation was easy, and the children had great fun with the puzzles. A little tip: it's best to plan the stations out well beforehand!
We played the Detective Circus treasure hunt for my daughter's 9th birthday – 7 children between 8 and 10 years old were completely in circus-detective mode! The combination of a circus theme and investigation is really something different from the usual treasure hunts. They were gripped for a good 75 minutes. Printing it on slightly thicker paper was worth it. A clear recommendation!
We had planned the treasure hunt for our twins' birthday (10) and I was totally surprised at how strongly the children reacted to the audio clips. As soon as a new file was played, they all stood in a semicircle and listened as quiet as mice. The story was exciting and the puzzles really suitable for children. Absolutely recommended!
Lovely story with good instructions. We did it with 14 children for a 9th birthday. When it comes to setting up the individual stations, there are of course no limits to your creativity.
Despite these instructions, you should allow a certain amount of time for planning, but the €15 is well invested. The children really enjoyed it.
