Ey up — I’m Hannah.
A Yorkshire mum of two, a former primary-school teaching assistant, and the person who hides clues behind the telly so you don’t have to make them up at 8am on party day.
It started with a rained-off birthday
The whole thing began the day our Lily turned five. We’d planned a garden party; the heavens opened by half nine. Six over-excited five-year-olds, one living room, and a mum quietly panicking. I scribbled a few clues on the backs of envelopes, hid them round the house, and sent them off hunting.
It worked. They were thrilled, I got a cuppa, and I realised there was nothing out there that was actually ready to go — no faff, no craft cupboard, no printing fifty pages. So I started making my own properly.
Why I test every single one
Before my mum years I was a primary-school teaching assistant, so I’ve a soft spot for getting the difficulty right — clues a just-turned-five can “read” with a grown-up, but tricky enough that the eight-year-olds don’t switch off. Every hunt on this site has been run with my own two (and a garden full of their friends) before it goes anywhere near the shop.
